Why Falana hates Fayose so much’

'Why Falana hates Fayose so much'

The Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka has said human rights activist and lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, is obsessed about criticising Governor Ayodele Fayose because of his ambition to become the governor of the state.
Olayinka, who was reacting to comments made by Falana at the maiden edition of Ekitipanupo Colloquium in Lagos on Thursday, counseled the Senior Advocate of Nigeria to purge himself of his unnecessary criticism of the governor.
“It is obvious that Falana is driving himself sick because of his personal hatred for Governor Fayose and if care is not taking, his state of mind concerning the governor may graduate from psychology to psychosis one day,” Olayinka said.
Falana had accused Governor Fayose of looting funds meant for the development of Ekiti State.
According to Olayinka, Falana should purge himself of his hatred for anything Fayose because it was not Fayose that truncated his (Falana) ambition to be governor of Ekiti State.
He also said that the human right lawyer must urgently get the anti-Fayose cataract that has blocked his eyes removed so that he can see clearly the developmental strides of the governor during his first and second tenure.
He said: “ Falana should try and see all the dualised roads in Ado-Ekiti (except) two were done by Fayose. Today, which of the past governors in Ekiti can match Fayose’s achievements?”, he querried.
Continuing, Olayinka said: “It is strange that Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) could go public with accusation of fraud against someone who has not been pronounced guilty by any court of law and the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) must take particular notice of this.”
According to the governor’s aide, Falana has been against Fayose just like he did between 2004 and 2006 because of his ambition to contest the Ekiti State Governorship election in 2018, insisting that Falana was still living under the illusion that he can achieve what he used the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to achieve against Governor Fayose in 2006 ten years after.
He however challenged Falana to put pressure on his contacts at the EFCC to look into the looting of Ekiti State treasury by the All Progressives Congress, APC, government of Dr Kayode Fayemi.
“Is Falana unaware of the diversion of N852, 936,713.92 counterpart fund paid by the Ekiti State Government to access the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) 2012 Marching grant by the Fayemi-led government, which has made it impossible for Ekiti State to access UBEC matching grant for 2013, 2014 and 2015?
“Is Falana not aware of the N25 billion bond and other commercial bank loans that the Fayemi’s government took and misappropriated, on which over N1 billion is being deducted from the State federal allocation now?
“Why did Falana keep silent when Ekiti State treasury was being looted right, left and center by the APC government of Fayemi? Where was Falana when uncompleted projects like the Oba Adejugbe General Hospital and State Pavilion in Ado Ekiti were being commissioned by Fayemi?
“Is Falana’s activism concerning Ekiti State only about Fayose and everything about his government?
“As someone who used to be close to him, my counsel for Daddy Femi Falana is that he should stop thinking that he can realise his governorship ambition in Ekiti State by maligning Governor Peter (the Rock) Ayodele Fayose everywhere he goes. He said alongside other security agencies, ‘Operation Pullo Shield’ and ‘Operation Delta Safe’, the Brigade has kept tab with every security issue, which has resulted in calm and safety in the state.
Biu spoke at the headquarters of Calabar South local government area during the flag-off of medical and humanitarian outreaches on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff to mark the launch of ‘Operation Crocodile Smile’ in the Niger Delta region.

No coach would have qualified Eagles for Gabon 2017 – Abbey
Former Super Eagles defender George Abbey has dismissed insinuations that had the Nigeria Football Federation appointed new manager Gernot Rohr instead of Sunday Oliseh earlier, Nigeria might likely be on their way to Gabon 2017.
Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho’s stunning late strike ensured Nigeria ended their failed Africa Cup of Nations qualifying bid with a 1-0 win over Tanzania at the Akwa Ibom international stadium on Saturday with many saying the efforts came a little too late after Egypt had already clinched the sole qualification ticket.

Nigerian Army Nab Boko Haram’s Major Drugs Suppliers

The Nigerian Army said its troops have arrested some kingpins and foot soldiers who supplies the Boko Haram terrorists with hard drugs.

A statement released by army spokesperson, Sani Usman, on Tuesday said the suppliers were arrested by troops of 3 Division, after directives by army headquarters to troops  in the North East for a thorough search of motorists and cargoes.
According to the troops, it “has intercepted and arrested some kingpins and foot soldiers of suppliers of Boko Haram terrorists with hard drugs and other stimulants between Depchi and Geidam, Geidam Local Government Area in northern part of Yobe State”.
The arrested persons, according to Mr. Usman were also  engaged in the supply of fuel in addition to hard drugs such as Cannabis (Indian Hemp), Chlorofone substance (AKA  Madaran suck and die) and Tramol, amongst others.
Mr. Usman added, “You will recall that sometimes ago we reported that ironically most of the Boko Haram terrorists captured by Nigerian military cannot read the Holy Qur’an, some of them cannot even recite the first chapter- Suratuh Al-Fatiha and yet they claimed they wanted to establish an ‘Islamic State’.
“When the Nigerian military captured their bases and training camps, they never found Qur’an or other Islamic books, what were mostly found were ammunition, local charms, condoms and all sorts of drugs, including sex enhancing ones in their enclaves.
“The arrest of these drug suppliers has reinforced that fact, more so as they have been making very useful statements.
“The Nigerian Army would continue to do its best in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in our country in order to make Nigeria safe and secure.
“This however, requires continuous support and cooperation of the public. We always welcome and appreciate information that could lead to the arrest and pre-empting of Boko Haram terrorists and other criminal elements in the society.”

But Nigerian pop star and Achievas Entertainment singer, Joshua Iniyezo, better known as Solidstar thinks otherwise. He said the awards do not interpret what they represent.
The Baby Jollof singer said the awards have been watered down and now goes to the highest bidder, without the need recognising creativity.
Solidstar said good music does not get the awards, but rather ‘famzers’ get nominated while ‘highest bidders’ win the awards.

so many wondered what his outrage was about.
